Intimacy Coordination
Intimacy Coordinating is the blend of on-set advocacy, creative collaboration, and transparent communication that supports actors, directors, and production teams in telling intimate stories safely, authentically, and intentionally.
I work with writers, directors, and producers to clarify the vision, tone, and emotional energy of each intimate scene. Beginning with a script breakdown, I identify the transparency needed for the team and the boundaries required for the actors.
My Approach
Along with my coaching, my role as an intimacy coordinator is deeply collaborative and rooted in clarity, creativity, and care. When safety and transparency are established, there is greater room for truth, artistry, and embodied storytelling. This environment becomes fertile ground for powerful, consensual, and emotionally aligned work.
Intimacy Coordinating also supports productions by reducing liability and preventing harm. By establishing clear protocols, consent frameworks, and open communication, we protect the emotional well-being of the actors and the integrity of the project.
“When an individual trusts another sufficiently to expose the true self - the deepest fears, the hidden desires - a powerful intimacy is born.”
— Sarah Pekkanen
